All New Kia Stinger Coming Soon

2018 Kia Stinger | Memphis, TNNew cars don’t appear out of the ether. Every new design starts as a car designer’s dream, his or her idea of the perfect vehicle. Sometimes these ideas get made into concept cars and make appearances at auto shows. And sometimes these concept cars go into production and onto the market.

Six years ago, Kia showed one of these concept cars, the Kia GT, at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. This sporty, sleek sedan was rear-drive and featured rear-hinged suicide doors plus loads of other applauded details. But the cool Kia GT never made it to production.

Until now. The Kia GT went through tweaks and redesigns over the last several years and evolved into something even more desirable: the Kia Stinger. The 2018 Kia Stinger recently debuted at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show and is set to be on sale next fall.

There are no suicide doors on the Stinger and no more side-view cameras. However, the Kia Stinger offers up much of the desirable elements of the GT and more. A stylish, fastback design will be accompanied by one of two engine options. A standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder offers up 255 horsepower while an available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 is said to reach 365 horsepower. With specs like these, drivers everywhere can’t wait to settle into the luxurious interior of the Kia Stinger and taking it for its first test drives.
