Kia Earns Two Best Cars for the Money Awards

When you have a tight budget for a car, you might think that you won’t be able to get many features. However, cars today, even small ones, can come well-equipped and won’t cost you a fortune. To help you find the perfect balance between affordability and great features, U.S. News & World Report gives out its Best Cars for the Money awards each year.

This year, two Kia models came home with these great awards, the compact Soul and stylish Sorento. The Best Cars for the Money awards are given out based on a variety of criteria, including reliability, safety, industry experts’ opinions, and overall value. A vehicle’s value is measured by the average price paid by consumers along with its predicted five-year cost of ownership.2017 Kia Sorento Earns Award Of Best Cars For The Money

“We’re honored that U.S. News named the Soul and Sorento winners within their respective categories for 2017,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning KMA. “The entire Kia model line – including our iconic urban passenger vehicle and three-row SUV – offers a winning blend of sophisticated design and user-friendly technology with a consistent emphasis on value.”

Editors were impressed with the Soul because of its fun-to-drive nature, spacious interior, and great blend of power and efficiency. For the Sorento, it earned high marks thanks to its advanced technology and excellent design.

Kia Showcased Three Autonomous Vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show

Kia at the Chicago Auto Show with the Kia Niro Triathlon

For at least five years now, the automotive industry has really started exploring the limits of autonomous driving technology. Recently, at the Chicago Auto Show, Kia showed how autonomous driving technology can be more than just getting you from point A to point B.

The first vehicle on the list is the Kia Sorento Ski Gondola. This amazing concept opens up a whole new world of skiing or snowboarding for extreme enthusiasts. Instead of wheels, this concept comes equipped with tank-like snow tracks that can tackle nearly any slope. It will bring you to the top, you hope out and ski down, and then it will follow you down and even lend you a hand if you get stuck.

Next on the list is the impressive Kia Niro Triathlon. Training to be a triathlete can be an arduous task, but this Kia Niro makes it better than ever. The concept comes equipped to carry all of the necessary equipment. Then, the Niro can light up a path with laser LED lights that illuminate a bike lane behind the vehicle. When you reach the end of your training, climb aboard and relax in the Human Touch zero gravity reclining chair while the Nero drives you home.
