5 Reasons to Drive the Kia Soul

Everyone remembers the Kia Soul for its unique style and the hilarious commercials starring dancing hamsters. But beyond the flash and laughs, the Kia Soul makes a compelling case for drivers, especially in 2018. Never considered the Soul before? Here are five reasons to drive it.

  1. Kia Drive Wise: This available driver-assistance technology works to prevent accidents from ever even happening, with features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System, and Smart Cruise Control.
  2. Comfy seats: Front and rear passengers will always be comfortable with heated and ventilated seats: stay cool in the summer and toasty in the winter.
  3. Lights like no others: The Soul has available High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and LED front fog lights to guide the way.
  4. The power you crave: The Soul! (Exclaim) model boasts a turbocharged engine that lays out 201 horsepower, mated to a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
  5. Electric power: If you’ve been looking for an electric vehicle with a little more interior space and a lot more personality, the Soul EV is the answer to your search.

The 2017 Kia Soul was even named J.D. Power’s “Highest Ranked Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle in Initial Quality” for the third year in a row.*

Updated 2017 Kia Soul Gets More Power with New Engine

Since its introduction in 2008, the Kia Soul has been a fan favorite. Since then, Kia has done a good job keeping the Soul updated with eye-catching style, lots of technology, and affordable pricing. Now, the updated 2017 Kia Soul gets a boost in power, one thing the Soul has always needed.

Buyers will be able to choose a new 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 201 horsepower–a big improvement over the current engines that deliver only 164 or 130 horsepower. The new engine will also be paired with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which should improve both acceleration and fuel efficiency.

In addition to a new engine, the 2017 Soul will also get a few visual updates, especially on the Turbo model. The Turbo updates include a model-specific front bumper and grille, unique 18-inch wheels, and red-painted trim highlights. Inside, the Turbo model will include a flat-bottomed steering wheel and unique upholstery with orange contrast stitching.

The updated Soul also gets new technology. The UVO infotainment system gains both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay technology. On the safety side, the Soul will have available blind-spot assistance with rear cross traffic alert.

The 2017 Kia Soul will be coming to Gossett Kia by the end of the year.
