2019 Kia Forte Named Car of the Year Contender

The 2019 Kia Forte, all-new and all-improved, has been racking up acclaim from customers and critics alike. Just this month, it earned the title of Best Value at the Southwest Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards, adding to its ever-growing trophy case. It now stands poised to add Motor Trend 2019 Car of the Year to its mantle, having been named a Car of the Year Contender.

Earning the Forte attention is its fit and finish. Judge Angus MacKenzie described the Forte as having a “mature and upscale design, cleverly riffing on established Kia design cues without looking like a cookie-cutter car.” On the inside, judges Frank Markus and Mark Rechtin compared the style and design of the Forte to that of luxury vehicles of a far higher price.

The 2019 Kia Forte will be up against stiff competition, but it has more than enough chops to bear out a win. The Forte is powered by a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with your choice of a six-speed automatic transmission or Kia’s first designed-and-built-in-house Intelligent Variable Transmission.
